Hi,
I had exact the same problem.
I took similar measures.
But I have also another problem with 1.6.1 (after I stripped out this
stuff), namely that many times, altough unpredictable, auth_ldap refuses
to let me log in.
In the error log, the message is like this:
Search must return exactly 1 entry; found 0 entries for
search xxxxxxxxx
although the user and the password are all correct. It does this
sometimes; intermittent; unpredictable. In the end, however, no one can
login. Restarting apache (! not ldap!) makes the problem go away, but
slowly the propblem comes back.
I remember disctinctly to have had this problem before.
Has anybody else found this problem or solved it ?
