[Auth_ldap] httpd.conf questions

Admin, 

I'm having problems with the syntax for enable mod_auth_ldap. I justwant the module to allow me to authenticate access to a particularsite, against my LDAP server. 

Where should I place the configuration? In httpd.conf or in thespecific directory. In addition, how do I test this out to identify theproblem?
