[Auth_ldap] auth_ldap seems to hang randomly

I use a Netscape LDAP server for authentication. No OpenLDAP.

I forgot to mention that restarting Apache solves the problem for a while. This
causes a sudden drop of the memory usage, especially the buffer memory. Then the
memory usage gradually increases and I get the problems again. Is Apache or
auth_ldap causing a memory leak?

As a guess, you're running OpenLDAP 2.0.x and have caching turned
on. There seems to be a bug with OpenLDAP2's cache implementation, but I
haven't tracked down the cause yet.
